OVERVIEW OF ABT CERTIFICATION EXAMINATION CHANGES

In 2017, the ABT certifcation exam will be changing from a two-day, three part exam to a one day exam consisting of 200 questions. While the exam will be graded as a whole, there will be two, three-hour sessions to allow for a break. The new exam format will be based on domains and tasks from the Practice Analysis completed in 2016. In addition, questions will have only four answer choices, rather than the five choices historically on the exam.

Please utilize the Candidate Handbook for all information regarding applications, eligibility, and exam format and administration.

All candidates applying in 2017 or after will take the exam in its new format. If you are already a candidate, please see the Transition Plan to determine how this change may affect you.
